The Kabuliwala Poem

This is a poem on a character called the Kabuliwala in Rabindranath Tagore's Kabuliwala. Do give me your thoughts on it, on my blog or on my email address.

The Kabuliwala well built and strong,
His body’s figure very long.
His clothes were baggy and soiled,
The turban he wore was very much coiled.
The Kabuliwala had a number of bags,
He put his dry fruits in some rags.
The Kabuliwala generous and kind,
Mini thought the best you can find.
The Kabuliwala is very hard working,
He’s always around, always lurking.
The Kabuliwala was very funny,
The thing was he didn’t mind money.
The Kabuliwala would tell stories about the sand,
Near his heart was an inky little hand.
With some adults he couldn’t keep his cool,
Having a rapport with children was his number 1 rule.
He was sensitive and caring though miles away from home,
He was friendly but not greedy and wouldn’t always roam.
