This is a story that I had written in the fourth grade. Recently, I have modified it and made it better. Enjoy!
CHAPTER ONE- JAKE
Ever wondered what will happen in the future? Well, I have thought about it too. About two weeks ago, I had a dream about the future. I am pretty sure it is going to happen. Let me tell you about my dream….
There was a boy named Jacob. Everybody called him Jake. He was a boy from the future. Jake was a rich boy. He was about 3 feet and 7 inches tall and he was in 4th grade. His favourite thing to wear at private school was long, crisp just ironed pants with a striped shirt with a collar and a tie. Jake had many gadgets. One of his favourite gadgets was the box. The box is a little metal box with the colour blue with green stripes. It has a button which is bright red with a ‘press here’ sign. The box could turn into anything you please. But, it only activated with Jake’s voice. There was only one problem. Jake was very mean. He copied homework and cheated on tests. He would trip so called ‘nerds’ in the hallway while going to biology class and many other mean things. He was one of those spoiled brats who have stayed in the same grade for a long time. Jake had no friends but he lied to his parents that the whole school knew him well. Sure they knew him well- for his bad behaviour.
One day his father gave him a time machine that was worth god knows how many dollars for his twelfth birthday. His father read out the rules and regulations for it. This is what he read:
Welcome to the Time-o- Rama. This is the coolest new time machine. You and a friend can have lots of fun with this machine. You can go to the past and to the future. Have Fun!
He didn’t want his father to take away his new time machine as the old one was so last week so he came up with a plan. Jake went inside the Time –O-Rama thinking his plan would work. He pressed one of the start buttons with one hand and the other button with the other hand. Suddenly, some sparks flew and hit Jake in the head. The life from Jake died and he fell down. Jake had passed out.
After an hour he woke up, and felt a sharp twang of pain in his hand and his skull. Finally Jake had enough strength to get up and go out. He realised that the knob was pointed towards the PAST area.
CHAPTER TWO- THE PAST
He looked at the screen again and saw this:
GOING BACK TWENTY-FOUR YEARS.
If it was really 2006 Jake would not have been born yet. He was thrown out of the Time –O Rama. He felt a small itchiness on his knee. Jake was terrified by the filthy, disgusting red shirt and jeans he was wearing. As he yelled he ran past a glass he managed to have a quick glance at his hair. They were no neater. He now looked like a regular school boy not like Dill Gates son. By his screams an old lady had gotten disturbed. She yelled at him very badly. Jake ran down the street with tears running down his cheeks. He never noticed a boy who had a book in front of his face that was walking. They both bumped into each other. Jake noticed that this was no ordinary looking boy. He had muscles as big as a gallon of ice-cream, and looked very mean from his size and face. One child from the class of Clarence happened to look down and yelled “Hey look, Clarence and some other boy are fighting”. Two teachers came running down and said “Stop fighting and come inside”.
“We will continue this after school” said Clarence. “You are on” replied Jake. “Three fifteen, be there or else…..” said Clarence.
CHAPTER 3 – Weikfield Elementary
As Jake was about to take a step into the school, he looked up so he could know the name of the school. The name was WEIKFIELD ELEMENTARY. That suddenly rang a bell. That was his dad’s school. Jake felt it was a little weird to actually retrace his dad’s steps. Jake thought that if this was his dad’s school, he could find his dad too. In his class there were twenty five kids. He actually met his dad. Playing with his dad and calling him Dill felt strange to Jake. Of course he had tried calling him dad, but his dad just looked at him like he was from outer space. In the midst of such thoughts, the bell suddenly rang. Jake gulped - It was time for the fight.
CHAPTER 4 – The Fight
Everyone ran out the door and gathered in the circle around Jake and Clarence. While pounding their fists, they started yelling “Fight, Fight, Fight”. Clarence took a fighting position but Jake seemed to be glued to the floor. Suddenly Jake felt a burst of too much energy outside of his head and fainted. The affect of this beating changed something somewhere in the wiring of Jake’s brain.
Suddenly when he woke up, Jake found himself in his bedroom next to the time-o-rama. He went and confessed to his parents that he didn’t have any friends. His parents told him that they already knew. Like always, right? So, from that day Jake learned to be a better and good citizen in his social world. I’m sorry I can’t say anything more as my mom woke me up and told me its time to go to school.
